Meet Avis Rent a Car of Southwest Missouri
Family owned since 1968.
In business since 1968, we are an independently family-owned and operated franchise of Avis Budget Group, with multiple locations across Southwest Missouri. The first Avis franchise opened in Springfield 56 years ago with one employee and twelve cars.
Today, we operate as one of the largest car rental franchises under the Avis, Budget, and Payless brands with a fleet of over 1,200 vehicles. Our goal is to grow within our community and provide options for our customers — from daily rentals to our long-term rental program.

More than rentals. It's family.
Family Roots
Since 1968, our family has been keeping Southwest Missouri moving. What started with 12 cars and one employee is now one of the largest Avis franchises in the region.
Community First
We live here. We drive here. We grow here. Our goal has always been to grow within our community and provide options that fit real lives.
Options for Everyone
From a quick daily rental to our signature long-term rental program, we offer flexible solutions for every lifestyle and budget.
The Local Difference
More than a fleet. It's a family standard.
When you rent from us, you're not dealing with a distant call center or layers of bureaucracy. You're working with a local family that personally oversees every vehicle in our fleet — because our name is on the building, and our reputation is on every car that rolls off the lot.
We hold every vehicle to a standard our own family would be proud to drive. Clean, maintained, and ready when you are. That's the level of care that comes from five decades of family ownership.
